On arrival at Guwahati Railway Station / Guwahati (GAU) Airport you will be received by our representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Shillong. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic palacid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel.
Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views. Evening free for relaxation. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After an early breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, is a high-altitude town in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It's known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites.
You will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai. Evening return to Shillong, enroutevisit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Overnight stay at Shillong. (B).
After an early breakfast drive Dawki enjoy boat ride on the river (Direct payment) while returning visits Mawlynnong – “Asia’s Cleanest Village”. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock. . Overnight stay at Shillong. (B).
After an early breakfast drive to Guwahati “Capital city of Assam”. On arrival at Guwahati, check in at your hotel.
Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river. Later proceed to visit Maa Kamakhya temple - The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya, an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva's tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his suddarshan chakra. Also visit Navagraha temple, Umananda temple, Balaji Temple, state Zoo. Overnight stay at Guwahati. (B).
After breakfast, we say our goodbyes and proceed to airport/railway station for onward destination.
